What's so special about a taco bar? Well, to start it includes homemade corn tortillas with all the fixins like salsa, chips, guacamole, fresh corn, black beans and cheese. Students will learn chopping skills, sauté skills and baking skills all with hands-on participation and teamwork. We will end the week with a sweet dessert called flan. Come join us for a week of fun!

Jump into growing good food without chemicals. This class is held mid-gardening season so we get to work with soils and good insects, and we get to learn plant pruning and harvesting techniques. Taking the phase 1 course is not required as this phase 2 class does cover new topics. We will harvest plants that were started in the phase 1 camp. This camp is great for those considering careers in agriculture or just have an interest in gardening and organic food production.

Explore the intriguing aspects of aviation: from how an aircraft is built to the aerodynamic aspects of what makes planes fly and how weather affects flight. This camp is for those who are interested in working with young children from preschool age through second grade or are interested in how children develop. We will explore childhood growth and development using a variety of fun hands-on activities. We will explore careers in childcare and education, and learn more about what is involved in running a day care facility or school program.

Come to WCCC this summer and get a taste of what it is like to work on automobiles. You will learn how engines work and about the other eight main components of cars. You will work in fully equipped shops with tools and automobiles that can be taken apart and put back together. With the guidance of our experienced instructors, you will apply science and math skills in real work situations and learn about careers in the automobile industry.

This camp will cover some of the career options available within the public safety career field. This camp includes classroom instruction with actual videos from different scenes, and hands-on experiences to prepare students for an actual emergency. The first day will cover law enforcement careers from the Police Academy director. The second day will focus on emergency medical technician skills with life-like scenarios where students will participate as patients and as first aid providers. They will also receive an introduction to ambulances and get to ride in one. During day three, students will experience more EMS skills combined with wildland fire career information.

Come back to WCCC auto camp for a week of more in-depth and technical work, including electrical, brakes, suspension and more. Find out if you really enjoy working on cars by using advanced tools and exploring the automotive field in more detail. If you have attended the auto camp before, have completed Level 1 this year, or have previous experience you are welcome to join us.

The French word for "small ovens". Petit Fours is a small bite-sized confectionery or savory appetizer. This class will cover all types of Petit Fours: small bits of cheese cake squares with fruit and chocolate garnishes; lava cakes drizzled with a caramel sauce; French madeleine cookies served with hot-spiced teas; mini lemon tartlets topped in meringue finished with a blowtorch to give it that fireside look; florentine cookies coated in chocolate and serviced with ice cream; truffles, bite-sized cakes and more bite sized desserts. Your summer will be filled with sweets and fun.

Be a part of the green revolution by learning to grow tasty food without using chemicals. We will look into what makes healthy soil, how to plant different seeds and how to include bees and good insects in the garden. Everything we will do is hands-on and low technology so that each student can replicate what they learn! Great for any person considering a career in the agriculture field or who just want to know what goes into producing food. You can also take the phase 2 class to learn more and harvest the seeds that you planted during the phase 1 camp.

3D printing changed the way inventors take their ideas from thought to reality. In this camp, you will build and tune your very own 3D printer that is capable of printing plastic parts. You will take your 3D printer home to enjoy making products at home. No experience required. Registration deadline is July 1.

This camp will cover fundamental skills and techniques required to design and complete a hand-drawn comic book. Western, Japanese and alternative styles will be explored as students learn the process of transforming a script into storyboards and a final inked product. Technical elements include framing and panel layout, shading techniques, inking with micron and dip pens, and digital lettering.

Explore and share your vision from behind the lens. This camp will use DSLR cameras and Adobe Photoshop to produce pictures like a pro. We will experiment with artistic and technical tricks of the trade and host an end-of-session gallery opening to highlight your favorite pieces. You will be able to take home the start of your very own professional portfolio.

The M*A*S*H camp was created young adolescents interested in health careers and to build basic skills common to all health careers (CPR, first aid, infection control, etc.). There are four levels of M*A*S*H camp, which will allow students the opportunity to advance their learning during four summers. This exciting weeklong-day camp utilizes the nursing faculty, students and many community members from various health professions to provide fun hands-on learning. Students are exposed to campus life, eating in the college dining hall and utilizing the recreation center.
